Defensive battles are currently underway in Kharkiv Oblast against the attempts of the Russian invasion forces to conduct offensive actions and advance deep into the Ukrainian territory. Counterattack measures are underway in the areas of Lyptsi and Vovchansk in Kharkiv Oblast. The aggressor is using infantry and equipment.

There are also ongoing battles for settlements in the border areas that were actually in the gray zone - Strilecha, Pylna, and Borysivka, as well as in the area of Oliynykove and Ohirtseve.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are operating on prepared defensive lines, said the Defense Ministry. Fire is being carried out to disrupt the enemy offensive and destroy the invading Russian forces. The decisions to strengthen Ukrainian combat units will be implemented.

Russian offensive on Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast

Recently, the attacks on Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast by Russia have become more frequent. In particular, on April 7, Russia launched another massive attack on Kharkiv and Kharkiv Oblast.

The head of the Kharkiv Oblast State Administration, Oleh Synehubov, said that families with children in 47 frontline settlements in Kharkiv Oblast were being forcibly evacuated.

The aggressor started to attack settlements that had not been attacked a month ago.

Russia has changed its tactics and is now striking twice at the same place, targeting Ukrainian emergency services, according to the governor.

After the most massive Russian attack on the power system on March 22, Kharkiv was almost completely left without electricity. Rolling blackouts are in place in the region.

American media reported that Russia has intensified its attacks on Kharkiv because the Kremlin wants to make the city an uninhabitable "gray zone."
