The Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) control the majority of populated areas in Ocheretyne and Solovyove in Donetsk Oblast, Lieutenant Colonel Nazar Voloshyn, spokesman for the Khortytsia operational and strategic troop grouping, said on national television on April 27.

The Russians have deployed the 55th Motor Rifle Brigade near Ocheretyne, Voloshyn said. Two-thirds of the town is under the AFU's control, while the area breached by the Russians is under fire control, he said.

"The enemy is blocked," Voloshyn said, adding that heavy fighting continues to dislodge the Russians from their positions. A similar situation exists in Solovyove.

The AFU maintains control of the situation around and within the territory of Chasiv Yar; the Russians have not achieved tactical success in this sector, he said. Despite mounting attacks by Russian forces, they have not achieved tactical success in Bohdanivka or Ivanivske. The Russians are attempting to break through the defense west of Bakhmut to reach the Siverskyi Donets—Donbas Canal, capture Chasiv Yar, and advance further toward the Kramatorsk agglomeration (Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka), he said.

DeepState analysts earlier reported that the Russians occupied Semenivka and Solovyove and advanced into Novokalynove, Ivanivske, and Kyslivka.

The UK intelligence reported that over the past week, the advance of Russian forces west of Avdiivka has accelerated, with the Russians seizing several small populated areas.

The U.S.-based think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW) analysts said that the Russians continue offensive operations along the entire front west of Avdiivka, but have made only minor advances to the west and southwest of the city.
