Ukrainian air defenses destroy all 24 Shahed drones in Russia's overnight attack
Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed all 24 Russian Shahed-131/136 drones overnight on May 22, Ukrainian Air Force Commander, Mykola Oleschuk, reported.
Drones were launched from Primorsk-Akhtarsk and Kursk in Russia and from temporarily occupied Crimea.

Mobile fire groups, electronic warfare units, anti-aircraft missile units, and Air Force fighter jets were involved in the operation.
Drones were destroyed over six Ukrainian oblasts: Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhya, Donetsk, Sumy, and Odesa.
The Ukrainian Navy also reported the destruction of four enemy kamikaze drones over Mykolaiv Oblast during the night.

Air raid sirens were heard in many Ukrainian oblasts overnight on May 22 as Ukrainians were warned of a Russian drone attack.
Explosions were reported in the Sumy and Poltava oblasts.
A Russian drone attack on the power grid in Sumy caused significant power outages.
