Four Russian drones targeting energy infrastructure facilities in Odesa Oblast overnight, but Ukrainian air defense forces intercepted all targets, the spokesperson for Ukraine’s Operational Command South, Natalia Humeniuk, said on national TV on April 5.

The drones were launched in two waves, from a southern staging point. The first wavetargeted Zaporizhzhya and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts, while the second was aimed at Odesa, Humeniuk explained.

Recently, Russian forces have been using small groups of UAVs to attack Ukraine, often in order to test Ukrainian air defense systems. This could indicate that Russia is preparing for a future, larger-scale attack, the spokesperson noted.

Russia deployed 13 drones against Ukraine overnight, all of which were destroyed by air defense forces, Ukrainian Air Force reported.
