Russian forces launched an overnight attack on Ukraine utilizing 13 Shahed drones, with Ukrainian air defense intercepting and downing 10 of them, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces said on Facebook on March 27.

Russia launched the drones from its Kursk Oblast. The air defense system took down the drones in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kyiv oblasts.

Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk also confirmed that Ukrainian forces destroyed 10 Shahed drones out of the 13 launched.

Russia overall conducted five missile strikes and 74 airstrikes, along with 152 artillery bombardments using multiple rocket launchers targeting Ukrainian troop positions and civilian settlements within the past day. The General Staff report indicates casualties among the civilian population.

Russian drone attack triggered air raid alerts overnight on March 27 in Sumy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv oblasts. The latest reports from the Kharkiv Oblast indicated the operation of the air defense system.
