Details: Experts from the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) spoke to Ukrainska Pravda about the details of that special operation using Magura drones.

The Russian Ivan Khurs reconnaissance ship was performing a mission 120 kilometres northeast of the Bosphorus Strait.

"The Ivan Khurs was our first successful mission. But this is a distance of more than 500 kilometres. The operation was very complicated. The mission was delayed due to bad weather conditions. Communication was constantly lost," recalls the head of the DIU's uncrewed vessel department, a general who goes by the alias Borets ("Fighter").

"We’re approaching the ship, we’re almost a hundred metres away, and we lose connection. We can't see anything, we can't control the drones, the enemy crew starts repelling the attack... Somehow we got the connection back and followed the ship for probably six hours, waiting for ammunition to run out.

After about two hours, it became clear that they were not running out of ammunition. We met it [the ship – ed.] at about half past one in the morning, and it was shooting back until about seven in the morning. While we were chasing it, some of the drones ran out of fuel because the distances were so long. Some drones were damaged. But we did get to the ship," Borets describes the details of the mission.
