Ukraine's Air Defense Forces intercept 21 of 34 Russian missiles in overnight attack
Russia attacked Ukraine with 34 missiles, and the air defense forces managed to shoot down 21 of them overnight, commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, reported on April 27.
The following missiles were launched by Russia:
nine X-101/X-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aircraft (launch area Saratov Oblast of the Russian Federation)
nine X-59/X-69 guided missiles (from the airspace of Belgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation and from the Sea of Azov)
two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles (from the area of Belgorod Oblast of the Russian Federation)
two Iskander-K cruise missiles (from the temporarily occupied Crimea)
four X-47M2 Kinzhal aerial ballistic missiles from MiG-31K aircraft (launched from the airspace of the Ryazan and Tambov oblasts of the Russian Federation)
eight Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea.

According to Oleshchuk, fighter aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were involved in repelling the enemy air attack.
As a result of the air battle, the following munitions were destroyed:
six X-101/X-555 cruise missiles
eight X-59/X-69 guided missiles
one Iskander-K cruise missile
six Kalibr.

Russia massively attacked Ukraine on the evening of April 26 and early hours of April 27. Explosions were heard, in particular, in Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts. 13 missiles were shot down in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast alone, according to the regional authorities.
