Ukraine's Air Defense Forces destroy 5 of 7 Russian Shahed drones plus reconnaissance drone overnight

Ukraine's Air Defense Forces destroyed 5 of 7 Russian Shahed-131/136 drones over Ukraine overnight on April 22, the Air Force reported on Telegram.

They also destroyed an Orlan-10 reconnaissance drone

Russia targeted Ukraine with seven Shahed drones from Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as with three S-300/S-400 surface-to-air missiles from temporarily occupied Donetsk Oblast.

Ukraine's mobile fire groups managed to eliminate five combat drones during night combat operations.

Around 7:00 a.m., the air defense system took down the Orlan-10 tactical UAV.

Ukrainian military forces intercepted all the drones over Odesa Oblast.

Due to the shortage of air defense systems in Ukraine, oblasts bordering Russia or occupied territories suffer the most, Air Force spokesperson, Illya Yevlash, said on April 21.
