Ukraine's air defence destroy 17 of 24 Russian Shahed drones at night – General Staff report

Ukraine’s air defence forces have destroyed 17 of 24 Russian attack drones that were launched over Ukraine on the night of 7-8 April.

Details: Ukraine’s Defence Forces clashed with Russian forces 76 times over the past day.
In total, Russian forces conducted 7 missile strikes and 104 airstrikes. They also deployed multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) 108 times to attack the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian settlements.
Russian artillery fire targeted over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russians are maintaining a military presence in the border areas, conducting active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to vulnerable areas and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast.
Russian forces did not undertake offensive (assault) operations on the Kupiansk front.
On the Lyman front, Ukrainian defenders repelled two Russian attacks near the village of Terny (Donetsk Oblast), where Russian forces attempted to break through Ukrainian defences.
On the Bakhmut front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 31 Russian attacks near the settlement of Bilohorivka (Luhansk Oblast) as well as Chasiv Yar, Spirne, Vyimka, Fedorivka, Rozdolivka, Vesele, Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka (Donetsk Oblast).
On the Avdiivka front, Ukrainian defenders repelled eight Russian attacks near the settlements of Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Netailove (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians attempted to drive Ukrainian troops from their positions.
On the Novopavlivka front, Ukraine’s Defence Forces are continuing to hold back the Russians near the settlements of Krasnohorivka, Pobieda and Novomykhailivka (Donetsk Oblast), where the Russians, supported by aircraft, attempted to break through the Ukrainian defences 22 times.
On the Orikhiv front, Russian forces attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the settlement of Staromaiorske (Donetsk Oblast) as well as near Robotyne (Zaporizhzhia Oblast) five times.
On the Kherson front, the Russians conducted eight unsuccessful attacks on Ukrainian positions over the past 24 hours.
Meanwhile, Ukraine's Air Force hit a Russian command post, five anti-aircraft missile systems, a communications tower and 13 areas where Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated.
Ukraine's Rocket Forces and Artillery struck a Russian air defence system, a drone control post, an artillery system and three clusters of Russian military personnel, weapons and equipment.
