Ukraine receives first batch of energy equipment from Azerbaijan

Ukraine has received a shipment of energy equipment from the Republic of Azerbaijan to support the energy sector, particularly in the oblasts most affected by Russian attacks.

"The first batch of equipment from Azerbaijan, weighing more than 52 tonnes, consists of 45 power transformers and 5 backup power plants of various capacities. The second batch is planned to be sent soon," the message says.

It is noted that the equipment received will be handed over to the distribution system operators in Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv oblasts and power generating companies.

In total, the aid provided by Azerenerji JSC [Azerbaijan’s largest power-generating company] consists of 45 power transformers and 50 generators, worth more than US$800,000.

Background: Azerbaijan will help Ukraine with the supply of electrical equipment to restore its energy infrastructure after the Russian attacks.
