Ukraine qualifies for Euro 2024: Coach Rebrov shares his thoughts on tough victory over Iceland

The Ukrainian national football team secured their spot in the 2024 European Championship in Germany with a decisive 2-1 victory over Iceland on March 26.

After a challenging match, the coach of the national team, Serhiy Rebrov, commented on his team's success, the Ukrainian Association of Football reported.

"I am grateful to the fans for their strong support even after conceding a goal," said Rebrov.

"We truly felt this support. I believe everyone deserves credit for today's victory – the fans, our Armed Forces, and our national team."

"This victory is undeniably significant for all of us – the country and the players alike. I am particularly pleased for the players. These two games were intense and demanding. Undoubtedly, these victories hold great importance for us, our people, and our military, who are currently defending our freedom. I believe everyone comprehends the significance of this win at present.”

In the initial match of the Euro 2024 playoffs, the Ukrainian national team secured a 2-1 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Ukraine will encounter Belgium, Slovakia, and Romania at the European Championship, scheduled from June 14 to July 14.
