Ukraine pursues bilateral security agreement with Luxembourg

Ukraine is working on preparing a bilateral security agreement with Luxembourg, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on X on May 13.

He also said that he had held talks with Luxembourg's Prime Minister Luc Frieden.
"We are preparing to formalize this in a bilateral security agreement," President wrote.
Parties also discussed expectations from Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. Luxembourg confirmed its participation in it.
"I am glad that Luxembourg confirmed its participation, as well as its readiness to work with countries that are under Russian information influence," Zelenskyy said.
Ukrainian bilateral diplomacy
In July 2023, G7 leaders announced that they agreed on a declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine.
As of April, Ukraine signed nine security agreements: with the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, and Latvia.
Ukraine is also negotiating these agreements with the United States, Norway, Estonia, Portugal, Spain, and other countries.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on May 1 announced that work with partners is underway on seven more new security documents that will strengthen Ukraine for period before it joins NATO.
