Ukraine urgently needs every Patriot air defense system Kyiv’s international partners could conceivably spare, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told his Polish and Spanish counterparts Radoslaw Sikorski and José Manuel Albares on April 3.

The diplomats discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defenses.

The Ukrainian minister discussed with Albares the importance of collective cooperation to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities, on which peace in Europe directly depends, and thanked Madrid for its enduring support.

"I conveyed the urgency of providing Ukraine with additional ‘Patriots’ and other air defense systems capable of Intercepting ballistic missiles," Kuleba wrote in a Twitter post.

During the meeting with Sikorski, the Ukrainian minister emphasized that Ukraine is currently the only country in the world that defends itself against almost daily ballistic missile attacks.

"All the Patriot batteries available in the world that can be provided to Ukraine should be delivered to Ukraine as soon as possible; there is no more important place for them," said Kuleba.

The parties also discussed what assistance Poland can provide to secure Ukraine's airspace from Russian cruise missiles, as well as ways to protect Polish airspace from possible violations.
