Kyiv authorities are working to improve the reach of Ukrainian media and curb the influence of Russian propaganda in Ukraine’s regions bordering Russia and Belarus, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in his evening address on April 18.

The president said he chaired a meeting with top Ukrainian officials to discuss the matter earlier on the same day. He suggested that certain “technical innovations” could soon help alleviate the situation.

"Remember, Russian propaganda invariably leads to destabilization and, in worst cases, to attempts at occupation," said Zelenskyy.

Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude to all the leaders, civic figures, and politicians who earnestly consider the need to safeguard people against misinformation and other destabilizing influences from Russia.

"We and our partners must resist jointly at every level," he concluded.
