Ukraine liberates a village near Izium General Staff report

Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the village of Dmytrivka near Izium in Kharkiv Oblast.

Quote: "Units of the Defence Forces of Ukraine forced the enemy to retreat from the village of Dmytrivka, Izium district, Kharkiv Oblast.

On the Sloviansk front, the main efforts of the Russian Federation focus on continuing the offensive on the Sloviansk city front. The fighting continues. Near Krasnopillia, Russian troops attempted to conduct reconnaissance but, having no success, retreated.

Russian forces carried out systematic artillery attacks around the settlements of  Dibrovne, Pashkove, Hrushuvakha, Kurulka, and Velyka Komyshuvakha.

On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russia carries out remote mining of the area, and conducts aerial reconnaissance using UAVs.

On the Kharkiv front, Russia forces attempt to prevent Ukrainian units from reaching the state border of Ukraine and the rear of the Russian units operating in the Sloviansk direction.

In order to identify weaknesses in the defences of Ukrainian troops in the areas of  Dementiivka, Rubizhne and Piatykhatka, the Russian federation is using Sabotage and reconnaissance groups. They were spotted by Ukrainian forces and suffered losses. They have retreated. Not far from Kochubiivka, Russian forces tried to conduct reconnaissance in battle. Ukrainian defenders did not afford them a single chance of success, and they retreated with losses.

Russian troops fired at civilian infrastructure around the settlements of Tsirkuni, Verkhny Saltov, Pishchane, Russkaya Lozovaya and Krinichnoye."

Details: On the Slobozhanshchyna front, Russians conduct remote mining of the area.

Near Sievierodonetsk, Russians continue to fire from artillery and multiple launch rocket systems. Russian troops also launched air strikes near Sirotino and Borovsky. Clashes continue for control of Sievierodonetsk.

Near Syrotynoho and Mietolkinoho, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian assault. The Russian troops retreated with losses.

In the area of Gorny, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian reconnaissance attempt. Additionally, Russia troops tried unsuccessfully to engage in Berestovo and Kodyma, due to the actions of Ukrainian forces, the Russians withdrew with losses.

After regrouping, Russian troops attempted to carry out an assault, with the support of artillery, in the area of Nyrkovo. However, Ukrainian defenders threw them back with heavy fire.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired at civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Mykolaivka, Bilohorivka, Pokrovske, and Zaitseve ta Stepne.

On the Volyn, Polissia, Lyman, Avdiivka, Kurakhivskomu, Novopavlivsk, and Zaporizhzhia front there are no significant changes. Russian forces fired on civilian infrastructure with artillery in Novoselivka, Krasnohorivka, Zelene Pole, and Kamianske. Airstrikes hit New-York, Avdiivka, and Pobieda.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russia conducted aerial reconnaissance using drones to detect changes in the position of the AFU units and correct artillery fire.

Russians fired barrel and rocket artillery and mortars on and around the settlements of Topolyne, Kniazivka, Lupareve, Posad-Pokrovske, and Novohryhorivka.

In Sumy Oblast, Russian forces shelled civilian buildings in Mezenivka and Hlukhiv. Russian aircraft also attacked two settlements in the oblast.

Engineering units of the Belarusian army continue to conduct combat training on the northern borders of Ukraine.

Background: 

  •       As of the morning of 17 June, losses of the Russian occupation forces consisted of 32,150 military personnel, 1,456 tanks, 3,563 armoured combat vehicles, 734 artillery systems, 233 multiple launch rocket systems, 215 aircraft, 180 helicopters, and 593 drones.

  •       Ukrainian defenders in the Black Sea hit a Russian tugboat equipped with a Tor anti-aircraft missile system from Zmiinyi (Snake) island.
