Ukraine intel debunks Russian propaganda claim of shooting down American helicopter in border area

Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence agency (HUR) has denied Russian propagandists' claims that a Ukrainian Black Hawk helicopter was shot down on March 17.

All of its Black Hawk helicopters are in excellent working order, and their crews continue to perform combat and special missions, HUR said on Telegram.

HUR also gave advice to Russian "military bloggers" who reported the downing of the helicopter: "The black-mouthed propagandists and their slave masters from the Kremlin, who are spreading fakes about the alleged downing of a helicopter of the military intelligence of Ukraine, should drink less alcohol."

Russian media spread reports of the alleged destruction of a Ukrainian Black Hawk helicopter earlier on March 17. They also published a video of the allegedly downed aircraft.

The Russian war correspondents claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces helicopter with troops on board was shot down near the village of Lukashivka, Sumy Oblast, and the landing troops were allegedly heading towards Kozinka, Belgorod Oblast.

Some Russian pro-war Telegram channels later alleged that it was not a Black Hawk, but a Mi-24, and there were no troops aboard.
