Russian attacks on infrastructure, in particular targeting the port, may result in reducing Ukrainian grain export to 5 million tons instead of the expected 8 million tons in April, Interfax-Ukraine reported with reference to its own source in the grain market, who wished to remain anonymous.

“Ukraine managed to export about 2 million tons of grain through the ports in the first 10 days,” he said.

“This made it possible to hope for a record export of 8 million tons per month, however, the damage inflicted recently is so significant that the grain delivery, in particular, to the port of Chornomorsk will have to be suspended for several days.”

Agency’s interlocutor at the same time expressed confidence that traders and agricultural holdings, whose terminals are located in the port of Chornomorsk, will promptly adapt to the situation and deliver products for loading onto ships by road transport.

“Ukraine will not stop grain exports through the Black Sea in any case,” he said.

Russian invaders damaged the railway access roads to a number of grain terminals located in the port of Chornomorsk in their morning attack, another insider told the agency.

This may lead to temporary disruptions in the products delivery to the Kernel agricultural holding, Risoil and Viterra groups of companies’ terminals.
