Ukraine and the European Union will hold a joint Defense Industry Forum in Brussels on May 6, the European Commission's press service announced on May 2.

The event will feature over 350 representatives of EU institutions, governments, European and Ukrainian defense industries, key partner countries, and organizations.

Notable attendees include the EU’s top diplomat Josep Borrell, Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton, Belgium’s Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, and Ukraine’s Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.

The European Commission said the forum aims to strengthen defense industry collaboration between the EU and Ukraine and to support Ukraine in priority areas. Specifically, this includes air defense systems, ammunition, missiles, and drones.

The forum also marks the first step in the implementation of the European Defense Industrial Strategy (EDIS).
