The enemy's air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and Ground Forces, fighter aircraft, and electronic warfare units.

The 28 drones were downed over seven Ukrainian oblasts: Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Kherson, and Kirovohrad.

An air alert was announced over much of Ukraine overnight on May 21 due to a new mass attack by Russia.

There are at least four victims after Kharkiv was hit and explosions were reported in Odesa.
