Information about Ukraine preparing for peace talks with Russia in June is not true and most likely spread by Russians, Center for Countering Disinformation of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported on Telegram on April 29.

Media are spreading false theses of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who allegedly announced "beginning of conclusion of peace with Russia in June 2024.”

Center called it "manipulation", as the President actually said that "path to fair peace may begin in June,” referring to summit on Ukrainian peace formula in Switzerland. It will be a platform for discussing future of peace process. Russia will not be a participant in this summit, therefore is no question of any “peacemaking,” stated Center for Countering Desinformation.

Such messages help Russia to distribute pessimism in Ukrainian society.

Global Peace Summit is expected to take place on June 15-16 in Switzerland.

80 to 100 countries, including representatives of Global South, may participate the summit, according to Bloomberg. Switzerland also expects China to take part, given its “influence” on the Kremlin regime.
