Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reports first meeting of international Armored Vehicles Coalition in Warsaw

The first meeting of the Armored Vehicles Coalition in support of Ukraine took place in Warsaw, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry reported on March 26.

The Coalition developed a consolidated position on strengthening the technical fleet of the Armed Forces with certain types of armored vehicles and creating systems for their repair.

According to Deputy Defense Minister Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, who led the Ukrainian delegation, the Coalition is intended to strengthen the "armored shield of the Armed Forces", increase its capabilities, and ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and weapons provided by Western allies.

The Coalition consists of four syndicates, each with specific tasks:

  • Supply of weapons and ammunition for Western armored vehicles

  • Maintenance and repair

  • Crews and technical personnel training

  • Practicing effective tactics for using armored vehicles on the battlefield.

"This is a very important initiative of our allies, given the existing problems in the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the repair of foreign armored vehicles,” Havryliuk said.

“I hope that with the help of our allies we will be able to create an effective repair base for Western armored vehicles in Ukraine as soon as possible."

The creation of this Coalition was initiated by Poland and Germany, with support from the United Kingdom, Sweden and Italy. In the long term, the Coalition aims to contribute to the creation of a future armored vehicle fleet for the Ukrainian Armed Forces and to establish an innovative industrial partnership with the country.
