Ukraine Defense Contact Group gears up for March 19 Ramstein meeting

The next meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG, also known as the Ramstein group) will be held on March 19 at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, Radio Svoboda reported on March 9. citing the press service of the U.S. Air Forces in Europe.

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who usually chairs the Ramstein meetings, has invited defense ministers and senior military officials from around the world to discuss the crisis in Ukraine and various security challenges facing U.S. allies and partners.

The previous meeting was held on Feb. 14 in an online format. It discussed the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense, as well as artillery systems and drones.

UDCG brings together about 50 countries that are helping Ukraine with weapons in the war against the Russian invasion.
