Ukraine controls most of Ocheretyne, battles ongoing — Kyiv

Ukrainian forces control two-thirds of Ocheretyne, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian military spokesperson Lt. Col. Nazar Voloshyn told TV broadcasters on April 26.

According to Voloshyn, the other part of the village remains contested.

"Two-thirds of Ocheretyne village is under our control, the part of the settlement where the enemy broke through is under our fire control," he said.

A Russian contingent is tied up fighting in Ocheretyne, and Ukrainian defenders are taking "all necessary measures" to drive the invading force out, he added.

"Fighting continues, the situation is under control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Voloshyn said.

He added that he Russians have brought in additional reserves from the 55th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade to attempt and break through the Ukrainian defenses on the Novobakhmutivka-Ocheretyne axis in the area.
