UK Foreign Minister Cameron plants a symbol of solidarity in Lviv — video

UK Foreign Minister David Cameron, after a series of meetings in Kyiv, continued his diplomatic visit to Ukraine by planting a Black locust tree in Lviv, Mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported  on Telegram on May 3.

This event follows his discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv, where Cameron pledged increased UK support for Ukraine.

"Morning's not limited to just coffee," Sadovyi said, adding that Cameron's statements about using UK weapons on Russian territory "instill confidence."

Cameron now boasts "his own" tree in Lviv — a Black locust tree, planted near Professor Timothy Snyder's tree.

Cameron arrived in Kyiv on May 2, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. Cameron announced that the United Kingdom would provide more weapons to Ukraine, pledging to spend 2.5% of GDP on defense.

The UK's government will provide Ukraine with precision bombs, air defense missiles, and equipment for 100 mobile air defense groups, he said.

Cameron also announced that the UK would send $3.74 billion in annual military aid to Ukraine and has given the green light for Ukraine to use UK weapons for strikes inside Russia.
