Colorado Springs Mayor Yemi Mobolade reiterated that UCCS will be offering mental health resources to students who need them, and the City stands behind the university. “Together we are Colorado Springs and together we are Mountain Lion strong.”

CSPD’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation, and the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office will be the lead prosecuting agency. “We don’t believe at this point that there is an ongoing threat to the community,” said Ira Cronin, Public Relations Manager for CSPD, who said this is being investigated as an isolated incident.
