U.S. Won’t Seek Charges in Goldman Probe
The Justice Department announced on Thursday that it will not bring charges against banking giant Goldman Sachs or any of its employees for fraud conneccted to the financial crisis, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The Justice Department released a statement saying that the “burden of proof” could not be met.
The announcement comes after a year-long investigation prompted by a Senate committee report on the financial crisis that identified Goldman as a prime player.
Goldman released a statement on Thursday saying, "We are pleased that this matter is behind us."
