U.S. Postal Service delivery of Pensacola News Journal begins Monday

Monday begins a new era at the Pensacola News Journal.

As we continue to expand the many ways we reach our growing audience through our print newspaper, pnj.com, our apps and an expanding list of social media platforms, we are changing how we distribute the paper. Starting Monday, we are partnering with the U.S. Postal Service to deliver the Pensacola News Journal.

We’re proud of the work we bring to our readers each and every day. That work, driven by our No. 1 priority to serve our community by providing thoughtful, timely and critical news to keep our readers informed 24 hours a day, seven days a week has not changed, and will not change.

This transition will ensure our print newspaper delivery is consistent and reliable. A number of economic and workforce factors have created ongoing challenges with newspaper delivery across the country. Delivering the print edition through the USPS is the best way to guarantee our work gets into the hands of paid subscribers.

Your newspaper will still arrive the day of publication, with the Sunday Pensacola News Journal arriving on Saturday. Advertising inserts currently delivered on Sundays will be included and delivered to subscribers on Saturdays.

Arriving later in the day may impact how many of you enjoy the daily newspaper. The memories of my parents reading the paper while my brothers and sisters and I begrudgingly rushed out the door for school is a moment that shaped my life.

While those routines set me on a path to becoming a journalist, more often than not I find myself lying in bed each morning reading the most pressing news on my phone before that first cup of coffee. Invariably, I get so caught up in the news that I end up taking my coffee on the road.

But I’ve talked to enough of you to know your routine is just as comforting. We appreciate so much your understanding and adapting to the change, and we have options that might make that transition easier.

If you enjoy reading in a print newspaper format and want that content first thing in the a.m. before your paper arrives, the e-edition is available on your computer, tablet or phone. That electronic replica of the printed paper is available each morning and is full of bonus content not available in the printed product. I personally like to use a tablet for the best experience, but your phone works too.

With your subscription, you also have universal access to eNewspaper publications across our network, including USA TODAY, as well as unlimited access to the USA TODAY Crossword digital app and site.

Your subscription will continue to provide you full access to our website, plus early morning newsletters delivered to your email. These emails will provide you with highlights so that you can jump right into these stories and enjoy the rest of the paper later in the day.

Thank you for your many years of readership!
