2014 was an exciting year for Pornhub, what with the celebratory tree-planting, the launch of a record label (sure why not?) and the dispute over that controversial "All You Need Is Hand" billboard in Times Square.

To cap it all off, the site recently announced it received 78.9 billion views in 2014—a considerably higher amount than the 63.2 billion it got in 2013. The stats were part of the 2014 Year in Review report published this week on Pornhub Insights.

Because you no doubt have lots of porn to watch work to do this afternoon, I've conveniently picked out the highlights of Pornhub's er, interesting report on people's porn habits last year.

1) Everybody was really into "lesbian" porn.

Maybe it was the widespread popularity of Orange is the New Black, but "lesbian" shot up in the rankings of the year's most popular search terms worldwide. It wasn't number one—that honor goes to "teen"—but it did place second, and moved up seven spots from its ranking in 2013.

Though it wasn't number one worldwide, "lesbian" was the top search term in a number of individual countries, including the U.S., the U.K. and Australia.

Additionally, "lesbian seduces straight girl" was the year's top gaining search term worldwide; people searched for the phrase 328 percent more frequently than they did in 2013.

"Step mom" and "Ebony" also made impressive climbs. (Pornhub Insights)

2) When it comes to watching people have sex, Americans were more eager to watch cartoons than hot moms.

Nope, I'm not kidding. "Cartoon" was the U.S.'s fourth most popular search term last year, ahead of "MILF," which placed fifth. The stat seems a little surprising, until you remember there are plenty of people out there with pretend cartoon girlfriends.

3) People loved butts.

No doubt thanks, in part, to Kim Kardashian breaking the Internet, 2014 has many times been deemed the Year of the Butt.

Things were no different in Americans' porn search habits, where "big booty"—yes, literally with that wording—was the top gaining search term in the country, up 486 percent in search frequency.

People must have been into curvy performers in general, because "big tits" (charming) placed second on list, up 410 percent in search frequency.

4) November was the season for porn.

In Pornhub's top 20 countries, November was the most popular month for watching porn—odd, given that it had been January in 2012 and 2013. Whatever the case, people love watching porn in the winter—maybe the fapping keeps people warm?

5) When it comes to porn-viewing devices, mobile has overtaken desktop.

Well, it looks like watching porn on smartphones really is becoming more and more popular, despite it not making very much sense to us. (Are people desperate to get some porn in during their morning commutes? And if they're watching it on their phones at home, doesn't it get annoying only having one hand free?)

According to Pornhub's report, people worldwide watched more porn on their phones than they did on their desktops. 45 percent of Pornhub's traffic came from mobile, compared to 44 percent from desktop and 11 percent from tablet.

I guess we can universally agree that watching porn on an iPad is just awkward.
