U.S. House authorizes court action to enforce Trump subpoenas
WASHINGTON, June 11 (Reuters) - The Democratically controlled U.S. House of Representatives authorized its congressional committees on Tuesday to sue Trump administration figures who defy subpoenas seeking documents and testimony about President Donald Trump and his policies.
Lawmakers approved a resolution granting clear authority to the House Judiciary Committee to seek a federal court order enforcing its subpoenas of documents and testimony related to former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation and Trump's efforts to detail the probe.
The measure also set out a process for other House committees to file lawsuits to bolster their own separate investigations of the Republican president and his business holdings. (Reporting by David Morgan Editing by Phil Berlowitz)
