Tyler firefighter responding to garage fire taken to hospital for heat-related issue, officials say

UPDATE: Tyler Fire Marshal Joey Hooten said a firefighter has been transported to a local hospital for heat related issues.

Officials said that the houses belong to the same homeowner.

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — The Tyler Fire Department is responding to a house fire off of South Southeast Loop 323 and Highway 110 that began at around 4:02 p.m.

Fire officials said the fire reportedly started in a garage on Greg Lane and has affected a nearby house. Officials said no injuries have been reported and no one was inside the houses at the time of the fire.

The Tyler Fire Department is still at the scene containing the fire.
