GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (KREX) — Tyler Boebert, son of Rep. Lauren Boebert, appeared in a Garfield County courtroom Thursday.

The hearing was related to charges involving a string of car burglaries and incidents of identity theft.

Boebert was arrested back in February. Boebert’s hearing was set for 8:15 a.m., but he did not approach the stand until 9:10 a.m.

The Garfield County judge told Tyler it would have been easier for him had he applied for a public defender earlier.

After the hearing, Boebert was spotted sprinting to his car, leaving from a rear entrance.

Boebert’s next hearing is scheduled for June.
