TxDOT public meetings gather input on FM 548 expansion project

May 20—The Texas Department of Transportation hosted both in-person and virtual public meetings on Tuesday about the proposed project of Farm-to-Market Road 548 from State Highway 66 to Crenshaw Road in Rockwall County to seek public input on the project.

The purpose of the proposed project is to enhance the various mobility, access management and roadway safety aspects along FM 548. The proposed project reconstructs and widens FM 548 from a two-lane rural roadway to a four-lane divided urban roadway.

The proposed project would include accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists. The project would extend for a length of approximately 2.97 miles along FM 548 from SH 66 in Royse City to south of Crenshaw Road in Rockwall Count.

The virtual public meeting is available online at www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/fm-roads/fm548.

Feedback on the project from the public can be made via regular mail at TxDOT Dallas District Office, Attn: Nelson Underwood, P.E., 4777 E. U.S. Highway 80, Mesquite, TX 75150; by email at Nelson.Underwood@txdot.gov, by phone at (913) 845-5038 or through www.keepitmovingdallas.com/projects/fm-roads/fm548.
