TxDOT: Public asked to retrieve Audrii Cunningham memorials for roadway safety
LIVINGSTON, Texas (KETK) — The Texas Department of Transportation announced this week that all memorials made for East Texas girl who was found dead will be removed on March 18, due to safety concerns.

Nearly a month after 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham’s body was found in the Trinity River, TxDOT announced all memorials in the right-of way near and beneath the bridge will be removed for the safety of drivers.
TxDOT said they understand the public’s desire to express their sympathy, however due to safety concerns all memorials, including paintings, will be removed and the bridge will undergo maintenance.
“We want to make the public aware so those who left memorials at the site can retrieve them if they would like to,” Rhonda Oaks, public information officer, said. “The bridge, both on the roadway and beneath it must be maintained for the safety of the public and the integrity of the bridge.”
People wanting to pick up their memorials are asked not to park on the shoulder of US 59 when getting them and stay alert of moving traffic near the bridge when exiting the roadway.
