Two Wiregrass campgrounds temporarily reopening

BARBOUR COUNTY, Ala (WDHN) — Two campgrounds around Walter F. George Lake, often referred to as Lake Eufaula, are temporarily reopening.

According to the Army Corps of Engineers, the White Oak Creek and Cotton Hill Campgrounds on the shores of Walter F. George Lake will reopen on the night of Friday, March 15.

Reservations for the campgrounds will open on Tuesday, March 12. You can make reservations here.

The campgrounds will be open until the Corps of Engineers can begin a replacement project on the aging waterline system. The exact date that the project will start is currently unknown.
