Two Wiregrass athletes and one coach selected to South All-Star Roster

(WDHN) — Two Wiregrass athletes and one coach have been selected to rosters for the upcoming 28th annual AHSAA North-South All-Star Boys’ and Girls’ basketball competition.

Enterprise junior guard Eric Winters, who competed with the Wildcats in the state championship on March 2 will lace up his shoes for the Boys South Team led by Vestavia Hills Head Coach Patrick Davis.

On the girls’ side, Enterprise junior center Sarah Amos will play for the South Team led by Trinity Presbyterian Head Coach Blake Smith. Also on Smith’s coaching staff will be Carroll coach Jermel Bell.

The North won both games last year at the Cramton Bowl MultiPlex in Montgomery.

The North girls won 80-44 to improve to 23-3 in the annual series, and the South boys won 81-79 on a last-second shot.

The North holds a 50-30 edge in the series first played in 1953.

The North-South all-star competition will be live-streamed in July by the NFHS Network and AHSAA TV Network.
