PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine joined two other senators to introduce the Access to Birth Control Act that would ensure access to birth control at pharmacies nationwide.

The act would ensure “timely” access as well as implement civil penalties for pharmacies creating a intimidating environment for patients seeking access to contraception or medication related to contraception, a release states.

Thirty organizations, primarily minority organizations, endorsed the bill.
