Two-vehicle collision in Winona puts one man in hospital

Jun. 4—WINONA — A two-vehicle collision Thursday evening sent one man to the hospital.

John Jay Kafka, 52, of DeWitt, Va., was driving a 2019 Chevrolet pickup, and Gary John Heim, 55, of Winona, was driving a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they collided at the intersection of Highway 43 and East Lake Boulevard at 4:57 p.m., according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

Heim was taken to Winona Health with non-life-threatening injuries. Kafka was uninjured from the collision.

The Winona County Sheriff's Office and Winona Ambulance responded to the scene.
