Two teens arrested in Abbeville shooting, HCSO

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Two teens are in the Henry County Jail without bond after shooting into an occupied car last week, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office announced Tuesday.

On May 18, at approximately 7:37 p.m., Henry County Sheriff’s Deputies rushed to the housing authority on South Dale Court in Abbeville on reports of shots fired.

According to Sheriff Eric Blankenship, when deputies arrived, they found an occupied SUV that had been shot multiple times and discovered two young men had shot at the vehicle and fled on foot before being picked up and taken to Dothan.

Sheriff Blankenship says after a lengthy investigation, the suspects, 18-year-old Sah’derik Marquise Mills, and an unidentified 16-year-old, were arrested and charged with shooting into an occupied vehicle. Both are being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.

“We were very fortunate that no one was injured during this incident. Gun violence is on the rise throughout our country, but we are going to do everything we can to stop it here in Henry County,” said Sheriff Blankenship.
