Two teen girls in critical condition after being hit by SUV in Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK, Utah (ABC4) — Two teen girls are in critical condition after being struck by a car in Spanish Fork Saturday afternoon, according to Spanish Fork Police.

At around 3:30 p.m., two teenage girls were hit by a Kia Soul SUV at an intersection located at 2300 East Canyon Road in Spanish Fork.

Witnesses at the scene told police that the girls “darted out into traffic” in front of the Kia, which was heading eastbound on Canyon Rd.

The two girls were reportedly attempting to cross Canyon Rd. from the south side to the north side of the road.

“Both girls are in critical condition and were taken to local hospitals and then airlifted to Primary Children’s Hospital,” a press release states. “Spanish Fork Police as well as the Utah County Accident Reconstruction Team are conducting the accident investigation.”

2300 East Canyon Rd. is reportedly closed in both directions at this time.
