Two suspects connected to deadly Plaquemine shooting arrested

PLAQUEMINE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Plaquemine Police Department arrested two suspects after a shooting last week.

According to Plaquemine Police Chief Stephen Engolio, two arrests were made in connection to the death of Bazile Mitchell. Officers were called to Nadler Street after a reported shooting on Friday, June 7.

Deandre Devon Dorsey, 19, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies.

Sammie Dorsey, 50, was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and failure to report certain felonies.

Engolio said both suspects were taken into custody and are housed in the Iberville Parish Jail.
