Two seriously injured in Pensacola after SUV crashes into oncoming traffic and overturns

Two people were seriously injured when a motorist crossed into oncoming traffic and hit two other vehicles, according to a Florida Highway Patrol news release.

The collision occurred shortly before 1 p.m. Friday near the intersection of West Fairfield Drive and Peagler Plaza Road.

A 42-year-old Pensacola man was traveling west on Fairfield drive when his Chevrolet SUV crossed the grass median, entered eastbound traffic and collided with Buick SUV. The Chevy then struck another SUV, a black Honda, before overturning onto its side, blocking the eastbound lanes.

The 42-year-old suffered serious injuries, as did the driver of the Black Honda, a 43-year-old man from Demopolis, Alabama. The driver of the Buick SUV, a 25-year-old Pensacola man, escaped with minor injuries.
