Two Rogers residents claim $225,000 in lottery prizes

ROGERS, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Two Rogers residents claimed a total of $225,000 in lottery prizes on Tuesday at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center in Little Rock, according to a news release.

A $150,000 lottery ticket was sold at the Murphy USA on Walnut Street in Rogers on April 3. The ticket did not go unclaimed for long as Aaron Piedra claimed it six days later.

The winning numbers from Wednesday’s drawing were 11384162, and 65, with Powerball number 15. The Power Play multiplier was 3.

How many Arkansans have won the Powerball jackpot?

ASL says Piedra is a weekly lottery player and purchased the ticket for his birthday.

They said Piedra gave the ticket little thought after the drawing but saw a local news story about a winning ticket and saw it was him who won.

He said he plans to pay off his family’s mortgage with the prize.

Laurie Miller, another Rogers resident, won $75,000 playing the $3 Bingo Extra instant game. She purchased the ticket at the Jiffy Kwick in Rogers and says she plans to pay debts and “play” with her prize.

ASL says 102 Arkansans claimed more than $450,000 total in lottery prizes at the claim center from April 1-5.
