Several large searches took place in wetlands and rural areas, as well as a search of a farm waste container thanks to the help from Maritime Liquid Waste Transportation. Searches included local and state law enforcement, firefighters, and public safety college student volunteers.

The Two Rivers Police Department continues to follow up on several tips and leads and review large amounts of video footage with the Department of Criminal Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Jesse Vang and Katrina Baur appeared in court on Thursday, March 14. Baur waived her right to a preliminary hearing and has an upcoming arraignment on Friday, March 22. Vang has not yet obtained legal representation, so Vang’s preliminary hearing was adjourned to Thursday, March 21.

The Two Rivers Police Department mentioned a planned vigil for Elijah on Saturday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Walsh Field, 2201 Plk Street, Two Rivers.

“Our thoughts will be with Elijah’s family and those attending the vigil,” stated Raatz. “Our search efforts will continue this weekend as we follow up on tips and leads.”

Raatz went on to say the department is grateful for the public’s continued support and volunteer efforts, and as the temperature continues to rise, they’re encouraging continued safe searches at local recreation areas, as well as rivers, ponds, and waterways.
