“These enhancements will not only elevate the aesthetic appeal but also improve functionality, making my daily commute smoother and more enjoyable,” said Council Member Nantasha Williams.

The Jamaica–Van Wyck E train station also got a facelift, with scrubbed platforms, floor tile repairs, and repainted surfaces. Subway and bus maps and signage were updated and much of the station also repainted, officials said.

Platform benches at the station were sanded and restained.

The Queens stations join 70 others citywide to get repairs and deep cleanings as part of the MTA’s “Re-NEW-vation Program.” The repairs can include unclogging drains, new HVAC systems and new subway tiles and signs.

And a handful of stations in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx are still slate for renovations, including:

  • 170th Street No. 4 train

  • Marble Hill-225th Street No. 1 train

  • Shepherd Avenue C train

  • Sutter Avenue-Rutland Road No. 3 train

  • Second Avenue F train

“Our city’s subway stations should be inviting and welcoming places that encourage New Yorkers to use mass transit,” said Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr.
