Two Powerball players miss $1.33 billion jackpot, but still win big prizes in Georgia

Two Powerball players in Georgia scored big wins in the lottery game’s latest drawing.

The lucky winners each matched four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000 in the drawing Saturday, April 6, Georgia Lottery officials confirmed to McClatchy News.

The winning tickets were purchased from:

  • RaceTrac on Atlanta Highway in Alpharetta

  • Easy Trip on Philema Road in Leesburg

They’re just the latest lottery wins in the Peach State. Someone in Tallapoosa won $10,000 in the Mega Millions drawing on April 5, lottery officials said.

The winning Powerball numbers drawn Saturday were 22, 27, 44, 52, 69 and red Powerball 9, according to the lottery game’s website. The Power Play option was 3x.

A single ticket sold in Portland, Oregon, won the estimated $1.33 billion jackpot after matching all six numbers, results show. It was the fourth biggest jackpot in Powerball history, the game’s website says.

Tickets sold in Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan and Wyoming each won $1 million after missing the grand prize by a single number.

The next Powerball drawing is Monday, April 8, with an estimated $20 million jackpot.
