Two more people stabbed to death as number of 2018 knife murders in London approaches 60
Two people have been stabbed to death in separate incidents in London.
The separate fatalities sees the number of knife murders in London so far in 2018 approach 60.
A man in his 20s was attacked with a knife in Zenith Close, Colindale, north London, just before 6pm on Sunday.
Land and air ambulance crews tended to his injuries and he was taken to hospital in central London, but succumbed to his wounds later in the evening.
He has been named as Raul Nicolaie, a 26-year-old painter and decorator, by the Evening Standard.
His mother, Eva Chiriac, told the paper: ‘I can’t explain my pain in words. He has a baby boy who was born on New Year’s Day.’
A woman, also in her 20s, who was known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The second incident saw a woman in her 30s stabbed to death in Sudbourne Road, Brixton, south London, shortly after 6.30pm.
Police detained a man in his 20s, also believed to be known to the victim. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody at a south London police station.

The two deaths bring the number of murders in London so far this year, where the Metropolitan Police haves publicly released details, to around 59.
In a third incident, an 18-year-old was found with stab wounds near Alexandra Palace shortly after 9.20pm last night. His condition is said to be critical and he is currently fighting for his life in hospital.
A second man, who was also said to be suffering stab wounds at an address in Southgate is believed to have been wounded in the same fight. It is believed he will recover from his injuries.
A 19-year-old was arrested close to the scene and he is being questioned by officers on suspicion of affray.
