Two people killed in Highway 47 collision near St. Clair

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. – A man and woman died Monday morning following a head-on crash just north of St. Clair, Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened just after 5:45 a.m. on East State Highway 47, north of Airport Road.

The crash report states Sabrina Bonfiglio was driving north in a 2006 Toyota Highlander. Bonfiglio crossed the double-yellow center line to pass a vehicle in front of her. A hillcrest was obstructing her view, preventing her from seeing an oncoming vehicle. In doing so, she crossed into the path of a 2015 Cadillac SRX traveling southbound.

The two vehicles collided. Bonfiglio’s vehicle went off the roadway and overturned.

Bonfiglio was pronounced dead at the scene just before 6:45 a.m. She was 26.

The driver of the Cadillac SRX, Kevin Snyders, was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital Washington at 6:30 a.m. Snyders was 67.

Neither Bonfiglio nor Snyders were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, the highway patrol said.
