Two people die in fatal Kanawha County house fire

DUPONT CITY, WV (WVNS) — A man and woman died in a fatal house fire in Kanawha County on Sunday.

According to the Office of The State Fire Marshal, first responders were called to a house fire on Holbrook Road in the Dupont City area of Kanawha County on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at around 3:45 AM.

Firefighters were able to pull two victims from the fire who were pronounced dead at the scene. The victims, a 69-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, were taken to the WV State Medical Examiner’s Office for proper identification.

The cause of the fire was ruled as “undetermined” and was most likely accidental according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
