Two officers join Camanche Police Department

Apr. 20—CAMANCHE — Oaths of Office were administered to police officers Hailey Hall and Cole VandeVoorde during the April 2 meeting of Camanche City Council.

Hall is originally from Morrison, Illinois, but moved to Clinton County after earning a bachelor's degree in Social and Criminal Justice. She has nine years of previous experience in law enforcement as a Correctional Officer in the Clinton County Jail.

VandeVoorde was born in Silvis, Illinois, but grew up in Geneseo. He is a 2020 graduate of Geneseo High School where he was a member of the Bettendorf Police Explorers, a program for ages 14 to 20 years old interested in law enforcement. VandeVoorde graduated from Western Illinois University last year with a BA in law enforcement and justice administration and a minor in emergency management. During his time there, he obtained an internship with the Clinton County Sheriff's Office and worked for Scott County Conservation as a Seasonal Park Ranger.

When off duty, Hall is either at the gym, playing slow-pitch softball, or spending time with her family. VandeVoorde's interests also include spending time with friends and family as well as computers, camping, and CrossFit.
