Two men killed in separate wrecks

Sep. 28—Two Permian Basin men have died in recent days in separate vehicle wrecks.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Jonathan Pete Fuentes-Wilson, 31, of Odessa was traveling west on South Loop 338 in a Chevrolet Camaro Tuesday night when he veered into the eastbound lane of travel and hit a Ford F-150 being driven by a 33-year-old Odessa man two miles south of Odessa.

Fuentes-Wilson, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.

Early Thursday morning, German Barbosa Martinez, 38, of Pecos was traveling southwest on County Road 415 in a Chevrolet Tahoe when he veered off the roadway roughly four miles outside Pecos, hit a power line anchor and over-corrected, according to DPS.

His Chevy veered back across the road and rolled. Martinez, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at Reeves Regional Hospital.
